Infusing Innovation Into Care for Chronic Illnesses

The infusion care market in the U.S. is valued at over $100 billion. More than 3.2 million patients in the U.S. rely on infusion care to manage a growing number of chronic diseases—everything from cancer and hemophilia to Crohn’s disease and multiple sclerosis.

Traditional infusion settings struggle to keep pace with this surging demand. They also require patients to make tradeoffs between quality, convenience and cost. Additionally, infusion therapy can be costly. Treatments for rheumatoid arthritis, for example, cost payers more than $46,000 per patient per year.

To ease these pains, patients and payers need an innovative solution that can expand access to infusion care, deliver convenience and reduce costs.

Introducing Uptiv Health, delivering hybrid, whole-person infusion care

Uptiv Health transforms the transactional treatment model centered on pharmaceutical support to one that’s focused on the whole person, empowering patients while prioritizing their health and well-being. This unique care model combines in-person infusion treatment with additional services, including nutrition support and mental health coaching, delivered via a digital platform.

Uptiv’s hybrid approach to infusion care will include:

  • A user-friendly app that creates a modern digital patient experience. Patients can use the app to complete onboarding, schedule appointments, choose visit preferences, check in, make payments and monitor their symptoms. Patients can also consult with their care team on the app by text, voice or video.

  • A streamlined experience for providers via the app through data capture, ongoing disease scoring and assessment, and other chronic care management services. The Uptiv app is supported by a centralized, integrated platform that powers referrals, workflow aggregation, EHR integration and data analytics, creating a more seamless care journey.

  • An integrated team of experts and clinicians including family nurse practitioners, registered nurses, nutritionists and behavioral health specialists. This gives patients access to the same highly qualified clinicians they’d interact with inside hospital and AIC settings, with the additional benefit of receiving infusion therapy in a comfortable environment.

  • In-person care. Uptiv Health will open its flagship infusion care center in the Detroit metro area (Westland, Mich.) on August 30, 2023. It will deliver a state-of-the-art, on-site experience, with private infusion suites, Wi-Fi, flat-screen televisions with access to streaming services and availability on weekends and after working hours.

What’s more, Uptiv provides completely transparent, upfront price estimates at a substantially lower cost than traditional hospital infusion treatment centers.

Uptiv Health accepts Medicare and is in-network with many insurance providers, including Aetna, Humana, Michigan Blue Cross Blue Shield, Priority Health and UnitedHealthcare. The company expects to announce more partnerships in the near future.
