As an entrepreneur and engineer with 15 years of experience shaping business and product strategy for startup companies, Ed Sclater is passionate about the intersection of health, wellness, and technology. Most recently, Ed founded Motiv after having spent six months as a Founder in Residence at Redesign Health. Prior to Motiv, Ed co-founded Naked Labs, which created the world’s first 3D body scanner for home use and helped thousands of customers meet their fitness goals. Naked Labs was acquired by Prism Labs in 2019 and Ed continues to guide the company’s ongoing evolution as an advisor to its CEO and board.
Additionally, Ed managed key projects for Magna Parva, an international engineering startup providing research, development, and scientific instrumentation for space exploration. Originally from the UK, Ed attended the MMM program at Northwestern University simultaneously receiving his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and an MS in Design Innovation from Northwestern Engineering after completing his Masters in Mechanical Engineering (MEng) from University of Warwick in England. He lives in New York City with his wife and two children.
